Q: What time does school start and finish?

School starts at 08.55am and finishes at 3.00pm (totalling 30 hours 25 minutes per week).

Q: How do I report my child absent from school?

To report a child's absence from school, please call the absence line on 07482617831. This will need to be done for each day that your child is sick. For any hospital, doctors or dentist appointments that will result in absence from school, please email absence@friars.northants.sch.uk . Evidence of an appointment is also required.

Q: Are we entitled to take a family holiday during term time?

No. If a parent / carer takes a child on a family holiday during term time they may receive a £80 fine as a result.

Q: How do I apply for free school meals?

Please contact Mrs J Rutter, the Family Support Worker at school.

Q: What should I do if I change my phone number or place of work?

Please contact school reception as soon as possible in order that we can update our records. These are essential in the unlikely event that we have to contact you in an emergency.

Q: How can I help my son / daughter with their homework?

There are two main things that you can do at home to support your child’s education: Read – ask your child to read to you. Maths – do functional maths together, for example, weighing items for cooking, distances / times when travelling in the car, every day money

How do I contact my child’s class teacher?

Each class teacher has a class email address. If you need to contact your child's class teacher, please use this email address. This is the best method of communication if your child has a problem at school that you would like to discuss.
